CAF president, Ahmed Ahmed has confirmed today that the 2021 AFCON tournament has been rescheduled from June 2021 to January 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The decision was arrived at after a virtual meeting held by the Executive Committee of CAF to assess the impact of the coronavirus on football and the calendar of CAF.

According to report, the African Nations Championship [CHAN] has also been postponed to January 2021.

The CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup semi-finals, will no longer be played over two legs but will now take the shape of a tournament format.
