The 2025 WTT season just got hotter. World Table Tennis today, unveiled two new additions to the WTT Series calendar — Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Muscat, Oman — alongside a double-header in Spokane, Washington, as part of the WTT Feeder Series.
From South America’s rhythmic intensity to a high-stakes desert finale in the Middle East, and a talent-building stage in North America, the new additions inject even more energy and edge into a year that’s already raising the bar.
Kicking things off is the debut of WTT Contender Buenos Aires 2025, lighting up the Parque Olímpico from 22–27 July 2025. Slated immediately after the historic first edition of the US Smash, this marks a powerful one-two punch for the Americas. Buenos Aires is ready to bring the heat — with global stars, vibrant local fans, and the city’s trademark passion all set to collide in a week of world-class action.
“On behalf of the Argentine Table Tennis Federation, we are proud to host this important event in our country. Argentina has always been a land of resilience, passion, and global sporting icons — and we’re ready to bring that same spirit to the world of table tennis. We will work hard to ensure the athletes enjoy both the event and the warmth of our beautiful capital. The culture, the barbecue, and the best table tennis in the world await you all in Buenos Aires from 22 to 27 July,” said Fernando Joffre, President, Argentine Table Tennis Federation.
From the Southern Hemisphere, the focus shifts to the Middle East for a seismic finish. WTT Star Contender Muscat 2025, taking place from 17–22 November 2025 at the Sultan Qaboos Sport Complex, is set to be the final WTT Series event of the season. It’s the last battleground before the WTT Finals, and the last chance for players to claim WTT Contender Series points in the WTT Series Finals Race. With the top 16 men’s singles, top 16 women’s singles, and top 8 mixed doubles pairs qualifying for the WTT Finals, Muscat becomes the all-or-nothing stage where season-long dreams are made or broken.
“WTT Contender Muscat has always been an event to look forward to on the WTT calendar, and we are delighted to now be taking the next step as hosts of a WTT Star Contender. This upgrade will undoubtedly raise the profile of table tennis in our country and the region. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to WTT for their continued support and for giving us this opportunity. We are committed to delivering a world-class experience for players, officials, and fans alike,” commented Sajad Mohammed Al Lawati, Vice President, Oman Table Tennis Association.
With the addition of Buenos Aires and Muscat, the WTT Contender Series calendar for 2025 is now complete. The action will criss-cross continents, boost local talent, and elevate global rivalries — and there’s still more to come.
WTT is also turning up the volume on player development, announcing two back-to-back events in the WTT Feeder Series to be held in Spokane, Washington, USA. WTT Feeder Spokane 2025 will run from 5–8 August, followed immediately by WTT Feeder Spokane II 2025 from 9–12 August. These events are built for emerging contenders chasing points, form, and recognition on the world stage.
“We’re thrilled to be adding these new destinations to the WTT Series in 2025. Buenos Aires and Muscat are fantastic additions that reflect the global appetite for world-class table tennis, and we’re excited to bring our events to their passionate sports communities. Spokane will also play an important role in supporting talent development in the Americas. As we close out the calendar with the final WTT Star Contender in Muscat, the race to the WTT Finals will be tighter than ever — and we can’t wait to see who rises to the top,” said Mounir Bessah, WTT Events Executive Director.
