Yohan Blake, Julian Forte, Nesta Carter, and Kemar Bailey-Cole all advanced to the semi-finals of the men’s 100m following preliminary round action at the JAAA/SVL National Junior and Senior Championships at the National Stadium in Kingston on Thursday.

Blake was among the fastest qualifiers for the semi-finals with a time of 10.11s but he shared that time with a number of other qualifiers namely Kenroy Anderson, and Forte.

Tyquendo Tracey was also among the fastest qualifiers clocking 10.12s while advancing.

Nesta Carter, who has been battling ankle injuries for the past season also advanced with a time of 10,19s, suggesting a welcome return to form.

Also through to the semi-finals is 2014 Commonwealth Games champion Kemar Bailey-Cole, who is also returning from injury. Bailey-Cole was timed in 10.31s.

Senoj jay Givans (10.27), Juliane Walker (10.29), Oshane Bailey (10.24), Kimmari Roach (10.31), Waseem Williams (10.33), Romario Williams (10.38), Keino Hewitt (10.32), Oraine Palmer (10.35), Ramone Barnswell (10.40) and Javoy Tucker (10.43) have also advanced to the semi-finals.
