Medeama Sporting Club head coach – Yaw Preko has commended his players for putting up a courageous display against Asante Kotoko at the Len Clay Sports Stadium in Obuasi yesterday.

Coming from a goal down to beat the Porcupine Warriors in a Ghana Premier League game on any day is not an easy task, but the Yellow and Mauves did it with panache on Saturday having outplayed their opponent and beating them [2-1] fairly in the final analysis.

Despite going down in the 13th minute through Emmanuel Gyamfi’s goal, Medeama SC did not relent but wrestled the game from the Porcupine Warriors with flamboyant confidence, scoring two first half goals through Prince Opoku Agyemang and Richard Boadu to pick all three points at stake.

Meanwhile, coach Yaw Preko admits that his players proved their tactical dexterity and were very disciplined in controlling the ship in most part of the game.

“We came with a plan and executed to perfection.

“My players were disciplined, tactical and superior for better parts.

“We brought our A-game to bear and that showed in the final analysis.

The former Ghanaian international [Preko] added that they are not going to be carried away by the win.

“We are staying grounded and not getting ahead of ourselves.

“Three important points in the bag. We celebrate briefly and return to the drawing board to prepare for our next game.”

The Tarkwa based club have moved to the summit of the Ghana Premier League table with 36 points, dethroning Asante Kotoko [35] to the second spot.
