African Champions Wydad Casablanca of Morocco suffered a 2-3 defeat to Urawa Red Diamonds in the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017 on Tuesday, December 12.

The Asian Champions [Urawa Red Diamonds] were propelled by Mauricio Antonio’s brace. A goal in each half amidst a vociferous chant from their lively travelling supporters.

The Brazilian central defender [Mauricio Antonio] gave the Japanese champions the lead with a stunning goal, finding the top-right corner with a controlled effort from about 40 yards.

Ismail El Haddad pulled parity for Wydad Casablanca only for Yosuke Kashiwagi to restore the lead again for the Asian champions.

Mauricio Antonio extended the lead for Urawa Red Diamonds midway through the second half before Red Hajhoui converted a late penalty to bring Wydad Casablanca back into shape, but it was too little, too late for the African champions.
