Rosemary Gaisie, President of the Women In Sports Association [WISA] has hinted that her outfit is ready to assist women to overcome the challenges in their areas of endeavour.

“We are not strangers when it comes to the challenges women in sports face. This association seeks to tap fully the opportunities in such challenges through every means that will empower our women in all sporting spheres, both on and off the field.” Miss. Gaizie said at the launch of the 3rd anniversary of the association.

“Our slogan – we are together, reflects the unity of purpose, which is the hallmark of every team that goes into any sporting event. We will actualize our motto – empowering women through sports.

The Women In Sports is a Non-governmental organization [NGO] committed to the development and promotion of sporting programmes involving girls and women.

Executive Director of WISA [Madam Gloria Commodore] used the opportunity to appeal to corporate Ghana to contribute to female related-programs in other to encourage more female participation in sports.

Other office holders of the association include; Nana Akua Amankwah [TV3] as Vice President, Matilda Dimedo [First Digital TV] as Secretary, Helga Gokah [Treasurer], Naa Darkua Dodoo [Public Relations Officer], Rosalind Amoh [Graphic Sports] as Executive Member, Mavis Amanor [Asempa FM] as Executive Member and Mrs. Betty Anim Addo of TV Africa.

Sammy Heywood Okine and Joojo Ephson were also recognized for their supporting role.
