Whoever have predicted that West Ham United could beat informed Tottenham Hotspur would have been said to be hallucinating, but Andre Ayew ensured that the Hammers records one of the most memorable comebacks in English football on Wednesday as the Ghanaian and Angelo Ogbonna’s goal gave the Irons 3-2 win over Spurs.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men [Tottenham] led 2-0 at half time with goals from Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli, but a quickfire brace from Andre Ayew watered the grounds before Angelo Ogbonna’s 70th minute winner which none of their 5,000 fans at the Wembley stadium saw it coming.

The Hammers supporters quickly did a rendition of their chants at half time to “Slaven Bilic we want you to stay.”

Meanwhile, the son of the legendary Abedi Ayew Pele [Andre Ayew] who led the 15-minute shock breeze credited the win to his under fire coach – Slaven Bilic.

“We stayed confident. We were down, but the coach had the words.” Ayew said.

“I want to congratulate the whole team, it’s a massive win,” he adds.

West Ham, 16th on the Premier League table are into the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup.
