Coach Mariano Barreto has said that Asante Kotoko has proven that they are not afraid to play against any team in the Ghana Premier League.

The Portuguese manager made this known after guiding the Porcupine Warriors to play a goalless drawn game against Great Olympics on Friday.

“We knew that it was going to be a complicated game because Olympics were saying that they were going to beat us easily.

“Few moments ago there was even a discussion that we were even afraid to play here [at the Accra Sports Stadium], but we have shown that we are not afraid to play against any team,” Barreto said.

The former Black Stars coach [Barreto] added that Olympics pushed his team to work, but at least a goal for the Porcupine Warriors would have been a fair result.

Barreto also hinted that he and his technical team are trying to build different behavior in the players so that they could play different positions.

“Sarkodie plays in one position and Habib, everybody knows that he is a central defender but he plays in midfield.

“And this is the point. We are changing some things. We are trying to build different behavior in our prayers.

“They have to play in different positions and not that I am a central defender so I’ll always play there.”

Kotoko’s next game is against Medeama Sporting Club at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi on Saturday, April 24.
