Coach of the Super Eagles [Salisu Yusuf] has said that his team is ready to have a go at any side in the finals of the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria labored to beat 10-man Benin 1-0 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the first semifinal match on Thursday, but the Nigerian gaffer believes that his team will be too strong to beat any team they face in the finals on Sunday, September 24.
“It was a difficult game for us today. As it stands, we can only wait to see which side qualifies to face us in the finals, but I can assure you that we [Nigeria] are not afraid of any team,” the coach said in a post match interview.
The Super Eagles will come face-to-face with the Black Stars B who won 2-0 over Niger in the second semifinal match of the day.
According to coach Salisu Yusuf, the WAFU Cup of Nations has been a good platform for him to prepare his team ahead of next year’s Championship of African Nations [CHAN] tournament to be staged in Kenya.
