Assistant coach of Legon Cities Football Club [LCFC] – Wahid Mohammed has express his delight having watched The Royals escape relegation on the last day of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.

Legon Cities bounced back from 1-2 down to beat Eleven Wonders 3-2 in the second stanza at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday to finish the season at the eleventh position with 42 points, but a defeat against the Techiman based side could have ended their dream of staying in the league.

“We are happy to escape relegation. It’s been a difficult season to be honest. We hope never to be in such situation again,” said Wahid Mohammed in a post match interview.

The assistant coach further reiterated that Legon Cities will beef up their team ahead of next season;

“We will beef up the team and make sure we start our preparations very early for next challenge.

“We will bring in very commitment players who will fight and play for the badge of the club.”

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Fatau Mohammed assured supporters of Legon Cities that the team will be different come next season:

“Things will be different from next season. We will really prepare well and very ready for it. Let’s wait and see what will happen.”
