Having watched his penalty saved by David Raya, André Ayew redeemed himself with a ferocious strike to pick all three points for Swansea City against 10-man Brentford in the first leg of their Sky Bet Championship play-off semi-final at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.

The Bees [Brentford] finished the 2019/20 Championship season with 11 points above Swansea. In fact, Brentford had beaten Swansea 6-1 on aggregate in their two league games and were the favourite, but the Swans proved that they have what it takes to win the play-offs.

The match was evenly contested for but André Ayew proved once again that he has competed at the highest level and can always spring a surprise when you least expected of him as he ghosted his way into the box in the 81st minute to score the match winning equalizer for the swans.

The Black Stars forward combined beautifully with Conor Gallagher and Jay Fulton, and then found himself on the end of the three-man exchange to volley the ball into the roof of the net to make sure the Welsh side took a narrow advantage to Griffin Park on Wednesday.
