Former Black Stars goalkeeper and trainer [Abubakar Damba] has lauded the progressive performance of the Black Stars B team at the ongoing WAFU Cup of Nations.
The experienced trainer told Happy [98.9] FM on Sunday, September 17 that he admire the general performance of the team.
“It is not just about the results of the matches they have played so far, but their overall performance, which is a replication of what has gone into the team.”
The former Black Stars goalie was also impressed with the little tweak Maxwell Konadu did to his squad after Ghana’s first game:
“It is about getting the right players and putting them in the right frame of mind ahead of every game.”
Abubakar Damba [Ghana’s assistant goalkeeper at the 1992 African Cup of Nations] further noted that Joseph Addo committed two basic errors in the second half of the Black Star B game against Mali last Saturday but the goalkeeper must be forgiven all the same.
“Joseph Addo made those two mistakes because he had not been tested prior to our game against Mali so I think that’s what accounted for those basic errors”
Yes he made mistakes, but that does not make him a bad goalkeeper so let’s forgive him because he is one of the few experience goalkeepers we have,” he adds.
