Ghanaian winger – Solomon Asante scored brace as Phoenix Rising FC trounced Tacoma Defiance 3-0 at Wild Horse Pass in the USL Championship.
The two-time defending league MVP [Asante] broke the deadlock in the 40th minute after taking a pass from Joey Calistri in midfield and sprinted to his right before blasting a shot straight into the net from a distance.

Asante has now scored 10 goals of his 46 regular-season goals in the Championship from outside the penalty area.
Since his arrival in the league before the 2018 season, that total is matched by only Louisville City FC’s Cameron Lancaster, the sort of illustrious company you’d expect Asante to be keeping.
