The Australian softball team on Tuesday arrived in Japan on Tuesday, June 1, becoming the first to arrive in Tokyo ahead of the 2020 Summer Olympics.
The Aussie Spirit Softball Team have waved goodbye to their loved ones in Sydney on Sunday as they left for Japan.
Based in Ota City, Gunma Province, the squad of 23 have started their Olympic preparations.
They will play 34 matches against the Japanese Professional League and two matches against the Japanese National Team before officially opening Olympic competition on July 21, when they take on Japan at Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium at 9.00 am local time, two days before the Opening Ceremony on 23 July.
The 2020 Summer Olympics will start on July 23 and ends on August 8, 2021.
