Ghanaian forward – Solomon Asante provided two assists as Phoenix Rising FC [PRFC] claimed their first victory [5-2] over their bitterest rivals, New Mexico United on Saturday, August 8 at the Casino Arizona Field.

The former Black Stars winger [Asante] stamped his footprint on the game having set up Rufat Dadashov and A.J. Cochran for the second and third goals respectively. This takes the Ghanaian playmaker’s assist in the USL to five in the 2020 campaign, the most of any PRFC player.

Jamaican striker, Junior Flemmings scored a hat-trick [the 4th player in the history of PRFC to score three goals in a game] on the night to bring his goal-scoring tally up to seven in the ongoing 2020 season.

The victory marks Phoenix Rising FC’s first against New Mexico in four meetings between the two clubs.

Solomon Asante has been nominated for the USL Player of the Month.
