The Victorian Government invited the construction sector to participate in an Expression of Interest [EOI] process to help deliver the Games villages in regional Victoria.
The four villages will be a home away from home for around 7,000 athletes and officials in Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong and Morwell when the Games get underway in March 2026.
These projects will create opportunities for local businesses and regional contractors to be involved in construction, supporting hundreds of jobs.
Village designs will be completed in the first half of 2023 to determine the type of housing to be built and its use after the Games, with construction activity at the sites to start later this year.

“We’re getting on with delivering Victoria 2026 and we are taking a step closer to seeing these Games come to life,’’ Minister for Commonwealth Games Delivery Jacinta Allan said.
“Victoria 2026 will invest significantly in community infrastructure, including much needed additional housing in regional communities.”
Each Games village will strongly reflect the regional community surrounding it, including Traditional Owner cultural values.
The designs will ensure the Games villages will transform into vibrant places with diverse and affordable homes, outdoor spaces and community facilities tailored to meet local needs.
Minister for Commonwealth Games Legacy Harriet Shing said Victoria 2026 was “a fantastic opportunity to partner with local businesses and contractors in creating athletes’ villages that are modern, accessible and energy efficient”.
