Borussia Dortmund wonder boy Christian Pulisic is the player Ghana must watch and handle with outmost care when the Black Stars play the United States in a first-ever international friendly at the senior level on Saturday in East Hartford in the US state of Connecticut.

The 18-year-old, fast rising star is the new darling of US soccer, the new Landon Donovan who is currently pulling the strings for Bruce Arena’s side as they prepare for this year’s CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Pulisic, rather than Clint Dempsey who has always scored against Ghana when the two sides have met in the World Cup, has had a hand in almost all the goals the US have scored in recent games, most notably against Panama and Mexico in their latest World Cup qualifiers that have brought the team back into contention for a place in Russia next year. A champion midfield creator, he has assisted most of the goals and scored a couple himself in the last eight games.

A regular at star-studded Dortmund, Pulisic is already having a great international career with the Americans and is set to continue that fine progress against Ghana on Saturday ahead of the Gold Cup, which kicks off next week Friday across the United States.
