Allyson Michelle Felix booked her fifth Olympic Games qualification on Sunday having finished second in the 400 meters at the U.S. Track & Field Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon.
The 2012 Olympic champion recorded a season-best time of 50.02 seconds in the race which was won by Quanera Hayes.
“Man, it has been a fight to get here,” the 35-year-old Felix said during a post-race interview on NBC.
“And one thing I know how to do is fight, so I just wanted to do that all the way home.”
Felix who made her Olympic debut in Athens  and stated that the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be her final Games.
The American track and field athlete has won nine Olympic medals, including six golds, over her career and is one of the most decorated athletes in the history of the sport.
