Sevilla, Napoli, Liverpool, Sporting CP and Hoffenheim are the new arrivals for the UEFA Champions League play-off draw on 4 August.

When and where is the draw?

The draw begins at 12:00CET on Friday 4 August. It will take place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon and will be streamed live on UEFA.com.

How will the draw work?

The clubs with the five highest coefficients in each route – this applies to both League and Champions – will be seeded and drawn against the other five teams in that route. There will therefore be ten ties in total. Any changes or further restrictions will be announced ahead of the draw.

When are the ties?

The first legs will be played on 15/16 August, with the returns taking place on 22/23 August.

What comes next?

The ten play-off winners will join 22 automatic entrants in the group stage, the draw for which will be made in Monaco at 18:00CET on Thursday 24 August. The ten losers will transfer to the UEFA Europa League group stage, with that draw taking place at 13:00CET on Friday 25 August.
