Libya’s Ittihad are facing a tough mission when they visit Morocco’s Hassania Agadir this Saturday for the second leg of Total CAF Confederation Cup first round at Adrar Stadium, Agadir.
Libya’s FA Cup champions are looking forward to cut their qualification ticket to the playoff round from Morocco, after only managing a home 1-1 draw in the first leg played in Sfax, Tunisia.
Ittihad, Libya’s torchbearer in the second tier continental club competition, didn’t play any competitive game since the first leg, played at Taib Mhiri Stadium in Sfax on 14 September. But some of their players were involved with Libya against Tunisia in the North Zone qualifiers of Total African Nations Championship [CHAN] Cameroon 2020 last weekend. That game witnessed the debut of Imran Touargi, as the 21 years old had a performance praised by both Libyan and Tunisian press.
Touargi hopes to continue his inform status after guaranteeing a starting role in Ittihad’s lineup that Coach Ossama Hamadi will rely on against the Moroccans.
“I’m very happy with the praise I got with Ittihad and lately with Libya”, Touargi told CAFOnline.com. “I always do my best for the team I play for”.
“Our coming game against Agadir is very crucial and we will do our best to have the result that qualifies us to the next round. After having a first leg draw at home, we worked hard and everyone needs to win this match to make our supporters happy”, he added.
Toaurgi is a product of Ittihad youth schools, and he played for Libya’s Olympic team in the Total U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifications, before having his debut for the Mediterranean Knights this month.
