The dream for Ghana to win at least a fifth Olympic Games medal got underway this dawn [in Tokyo] as captain of the Black Bombers – Sulemanu Tetteh put up a spirited performance to kick out Marte de la Rosa Rodrigo via split decision.

Tetteh [28yrs] who is competing in his second Olympic Games tournament having represented Ghana at the London 2012 Summer Olympics scored 3-2 over his
Dominican Republic in the Flyweight division to progress to the round of 16 phase.

It was not a walk in the ring for Sulemanu Tetteh as he was forced by the XVIII Pan American Games champion to bring out his A-Game to bare.

The next Ghanaian boxer to step in the ring is 19-year-old Samuel Takyi who will come up against Jean Carlos Pachito Caicedo of Ecuador in the featherweight division on Wednesday, July 28.

Ghana has won four medals, [3 in boxing, 1 in football] in the history of the Olympic Games and is still chasing its 5th medal.
