Arsenal manager – Mikel Arteta has said that it will not be long to see Thomas Teye Partey back on the field again.

Thomas Partey, a summer signing picked up an injury in the first half of Arsenal’s 0-3 loss to Aston Villa at the Emirate, a situation which did not allow the midfielder to feature for Ghana over the international break.

But in his latest update Partey’s situation, Arteta said the Ghanaian midfield metronome is working very hard in an attempt to recover ahead of time:

“[I have no idea], he picked up an injury very early in the game he tried to carry on and he wanted to play the second half and we knew it was a significant injury.

“He has done really well, he is working very hard and he wants to be available.

“Hopefully we can get him back soon but it is an area where we have to be careful and a bit protective with the player.”

Arsenal and Leeds United drew blanks yesterday at Elland Road.
