Chief Operations Officer [COO] of StarTimes, Ghana Mr. Felix Ahonzo has promised a long lasting relationship between his outfit and the Sports Writers Association of Ghana [SWAG].
Speaking at a brief ceremony with the press at its Head Office in Accra on Monday, May 15, 2017 Mr. Ahonzo said:
“It is our hope that this humble beginning, our association with the SWAG will permit us to do a lot more in future, so this association [with SWAG] has come to stay. This marriage will be a long lasting one.”
“Our aim also to help people develop their talents and to get the best out of our athletes in Ghana because we believe that Ghana is endowed with so much talent. All we have to do is to showcase this talent that is why we would like to work with the media to make it a reality,” he added.
According to Mr. Ahonzo, the 42nd MTN/SWAG Awards Night will not only be beamed live, but on three to five television stations in Ghana.
He [Mr. Ahonzo] further reiterated that winners on the night will be offered StarTimes combo decoder dish.
“Once we are recognizing sportsmen and women, we’ll like to offer them one of our products. We will present to the winners, a combo decoder dish so that they could have access to watch the beautiful programs that we have on StarTimes,” he said.
Meanwhile, President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana [Mr. Kwabena Yeboah] expressed his profound gratitude to StarTimes for coming on board to lend a positive support to the SWAG.
“I want to promise them that we will give them value for money and ensure that this partnership will be for life. I would urge all Ghanaians to switch to StarTimes and enjoy their quality service on Television,” he added.
The 42nd MTN/SWAG Awards Night comes off on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra, Ghana.
