Legon Cities FC coach – Bashiru Hayford has said that there is nothing to be excited about despite guiding The Royals out of the relegation zone on Wednesday after beating Liberty Professionals 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

After a goalless first half, the scientific soccer lads [Liberty] took the lead in the 75th minute through Kweku Karikari, but their celebration was short lived as two late goals from Baba Mahama [86th] and Jonah Attuquaye [90th] won all three points for Legon Cities.

But speaking in a post match interview, Bashiru Hayford noted that there’s nothing to rejoice about as he shift his attention to Legon Cities next game against WAFA at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakpe.

“There is nothing to celebrate about this victory. We could have won this game in the first half but well kudos to the boys. I just love everything they gave on the field,” the experienced manager said.

He added that star man – Victorien Adebayor is still finding his feet and sooner or later, everyone will see the best of the Nigerien attacker.

According to coach Bashiru Hayford, Adebayor was not playing for almost a year when he traveled to Europe.

Match winner – Jonah Attuquaye also said that he and his colleagues approach games with nothing but a winning mentality

“I go into every game with the same determination and fighting spirit. My goal is the same as the rest of my colleagues.

“We want to win games and that’s what we will do till the end of the season.”

Legon Cities have leapfrog to the 13th position on the league table with 29 points.
