There’s very little to discuss about the chase for the 2017 Ghana Premier League [GPL] title as Aduana Stars have all but won their second silverware with a match to spare having beaten Elmina Sharks 2-1 at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa on Sunday, October 15.
Yes, Aduana Stars are the unofficial crowned champions of the league, but the fate of as many as eight teams still hangs in the balance and their quest to staying in the Ghana Premier League will be determined after matchday 30.
A trip down the premier league log reveals that Berekum Chelsea [8th], Elmina Sharks [9th], Inter Allies [10th], AshantiGold SC [11th], Liberty Professionals [12th], Bechem United [13th], Tema Youth [14th], and Great Olympics [15th] could join bottomed club, Bolga All Stars [16th] to the wilderness of Ghana football – Division One.
In fact, the situation for four clubs [Tema Youth, Great Olympics, Bechem United, and Berekum Chelsea] is very intriguing as they meet each other on the final day matches.
Below are the fixtures for matchday 30:
AshantiGold SC vs. Aduana Stars
Elmina Sharks vs. Wa All Stars
Liberty Professionals vs. Asante Kotoko
Bechem United vs. Great Olympics
Hearts of Oak vs. Inter Allies
Bolga All Stars vs. Ebusua Dwarfs
Berekum Chelsea vs. Tema Youth
WAFA vs. Medeama SC
The Harbour City Boys [Tema Youth SC] despite their 2-1 victory over Bechem United yesterday are lying at the fourteenth position with 37 points and will need to pick all the three points at stake in their final match of the season against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.
The host [Berekum Chelsea] could be relegated should Tema Youth beat them but, that will depend on the results from the other league centers.
Meanwhile, Great Olympics will also travel to the Brong Ahafo region to play as guest to the beleaguered Bechem United at the Nana Gyeabour Park.
The wonder club [Great Olympics] may need a special magic in order to escape the relegation gunshot judging from their current status on the league ladder [fifteenth position] with 36 points. Bechem United on the other hand can also not afford to lose the match as they lie just a step above the drop zone [thirteenth position] with 38 points.
AshantiGold SC, Liberty Professionals, Inter Allies, and Elmina Sharks are playing against the top five teams on the league log and that could be a blessing in disguise for them as these tops of the table clubs need no motivation to go for the killer punch.
Results at glance after matchday 29:

Ebusua Dwarfs 2-1 WAFA
