Legon Cities FC goalkeeper – Sylvester Sackey is gladden to have finally made his full debut for The Royals on matchweek 25 at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope.

The 24-year-old goalie who has been a third choice to Fatau Dauda and Winfred Honu got his chance yesterday having waited for a while, but it ended bittersweet for Sackey in the final analysis as The Royals lost 0-1 to WAFA.

Sackey could not hide his joy in his post match interview but was not happy about the result.

“I am very happy to make my full debut against WAFA.”

“I have been here for sometime now and always learning from my other goalkeepers.

“I never gave up. I knew one day my chance will come and I happy it came against WAFA

“It’s a great feeling when coach said, I will be starting. I knew it come with responsibilities and courage, so I have to stand up to it.

“It’s a painful defeat because the team gave everything at goal. Luck wasn’t on our side today.

“I hoped for a better debut [win and a clean sheet], but unfortunately it didn’t come our way.”
