Tokyo 2020 Olympic double medallist – Shericka Jackson could play an ambassadorial role for Purity Bakery, a brand of Consolidated Bakeries Jamaica Limited.

The Saint Ann native sprinter’s performance at the Summer Games in Japan has projected her into a global star having won bronze in the women’s 100m and gold medal in the women’s 4x100m relay final.

Meanwhile, the relationship between the sprinter and Purity Bakery soared following a tweet from Jackson during the Games, mentioning Purity Buns as one of the things she was missing away from home.

Responding to queries about possibility of partnership between Purity Bakery and Shericka Jackson, Russanette Dennis [Marketing Officer at Purity] has indicated that the company was in the early stages of negotiations with the sprinter’s representatives.

“We’d love to have her as an ambassador but it’s too early to confirm anything ambassador-related right now,” she said.

“Quite a few people sent us the tweet before we saw it. Many tagged us on all platforms that it was posted,” Dennis revealed.

“When we responded, though, our pages started to jump in followers. We got approximately 200 [Instagram] followers that night and about 50 on Twitter.

“The organic engagement is through the roof for all platforms. People love her and it’s easy to see why. So naturally, they will love everything to do with her.”
