American female track and field sprinter – Sha’Carri Richardson showed another scintillating performance yesterday, coasting a couple of 10.7 times in the women’s 100m at Continental Tour Gold.

Sha’Carri, whose personal best stands at 10.72 seconds finished the heat in 10.74 [1.1] seconds at Mt Sac in California and followed it up with a time of 10.77 [-1.2] seconds in the final.

The 21-year-old Dallas born did not get a good start but engineered the necessary steps from 40m to power past runner-up – Javianne Oliver [11.08 sec] by more than a quarter of a second.

Her performance puts her in pole position ahead of the Wanda Diamond League in Gateshead on May 23 where she’ll come face-to-face with world champion, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Olympic champion – Elaine Thompson-Herah, and British record-holder Dina Asher-Smith.
