The entire African continent will be watching the Teranga Lions of Senegal today with intense hopes as they take on the ruthless Colombia in their last Group H match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Coach Aliou Cisse [Senegal] and his players need to go into this encounter with cool heads knowing very well that a draw against Colombia will be enough for them to grab a Round of 16 slot ahead of the South Americans.

On the flip side, coach Jose Pekerman knows that there wouldn’t be any spare time for sweet wine ahead of this fixture since only a win is the trump card that could help Los Cafeteros [Colombia] to qualify from Group H.

In view of that the experience manager will task his silky attacking trio – Juan Cuadrado, Juan Quintero, and James Rodriguez to step on the peddle right from the blast of the whistle to control the engine [midfield] and locate Radamel Falcao for him to try his luck at goal.

Senegal undoubtedly have enough men who are capable to neutralize the attacking potency of Colombia, but the key questions here is whether they will be able to stand the pressure till the end of proceedings.

The South Americans were delight to watch in their match against Poland where James Rodriguez came to the party as he directed the midfield traffic with ease, but the attacking midfielder will need to add something extra to be able to neutralize the defensive cover of Senegal led by Kalidou Koulibaly.

Aliou Cisse who led the terrifying Senegalese team to the quarterfinal stage of the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan/Korea was very critical about his defense after their match against the Samurai Blue [Japan] which ended 2-2 with the Teranga Lions going in front on two occasions in that thriller.

Before the referee blow his whistle for the game to start, the Teranga Lions must bear in mind that they have the hearts of over 1.2 billion people at their feet and as such must play with their heads instead of their strength.
