Sasha Lee Forbes won Jamaica sixth gold medal in track and field at the CAC Games in Colombia on Wednesday, taking the 200m in impressive fashion.

Running in Lane 4, Forbes, the 2017 World University Games 100m champion, controlled the race from the blocks, quickly erasing the stagger between herself and Malreidy Paulino within the first 20 metres.

She stormed into the straight well clear and held the lead to the line to win in 22.80s to win ahead of a fast-finishing Semoy Hackett of Trinidad and Tobago who won the silver in 22.95s running in Lane 7.

Hackett closed down on Jamaica’s Jodean Williams getting to the line just ahead of the Jamaican who took the bronze medal in 22.96 seconds.
