Head coach of Legon Cities FC, Bashir Hayford has revealed that Samuel Boadu reached out to him to receive his blessings after their 1-2 defeat to the Phobians yesterday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Speaking at a post match press briefing the experience gaffer touted the success of Samuel Boadu at Hearts of Oak so far, saying the young coach deserves all the plaudits.

“Samuel Boadu is my son. He came to me to bless him after the game,” said Bashir Hayford.

“He said he always want to be like me,” he waxed lyrical.

“I am impressed with what he has done at Hearts of Oak. He deserves all the praise,” he added.

Hearts of Oak has been in a sparkling form since Samuel Boadu took over the coaching role from Kosta Papic who resigned midway through the season.

The Phobians are currently on top of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League table with 56 points, same as second placed Asante Kotoko SC, but Hearts of Oak has a superior goal advantage.
