Carlo Ancelotti is the new favourite to become the next Arsenal manager following his sacking by Napoli on Tuesday night.

Ancelotti has been linked with the role since Unai Emery was sacked at the end of November, and his availability has seen the bookmakers rank the Italian as an evens favourite for the job.

Meanwhile, Freddie Ljungberg has revealed that Arsenal technical director Edu has told him to work ‘game-to-game’ as interim manager as the club’s search for a permanent appointment continues.

Arsenal are considering a number of candidates to replace Emery, with former Valencia manager also Marcelino among the favourites amid reports in Spain he has flown to the capital. Mikel Arteta remains the bookmakers’ favourite, however.
