Richmond Osarfo shines at the African Youth championship

Ghana’s Richmond Osarfo won three silver medals at the just ended African Youth and Junior Championship in Kampala, Uganda.

Richmond Osarfo who completed 320kg at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship in Gold Coast, Australia last month, but that feat was topped up at the African Youth and Junior Championship where Richmond made a total of 330kg [105], [188], and [142].

Richmond Osarfo was also adjudged the Discovery of the Year after exhibiting great talents on his international tournament in Penang, Malaysia.

The African Youth and Junior Championship serve as the final qualifying platform for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in Queensland, Australia.

Meanwhile, the Patrons and Executive Board Members of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation [GWF] has congratulated the Ghanaian athlete for his consistency.

The final list of qualified athletes for the Commonwealth Games will be published on October 31, 2017.
