Former Auditor General, Professor Edward Dua Agyemang has fulfill his $ 1,000 promise to the Ghana Fencing Association.

Prof. Dua Agyeman made the pledge this month when the Ghana Fencing Association [GFA] launched a fundraising campaign ahead of their participation in the Junior and Cadet Fencing Commonwealth Games in the United Kingdom.

The Ghana Fencing Association is raising $30,000 [GHC139,767], to help the preparation of the team for the competition, which would be organized by the England Fencing Limited in Newcastle from July 26-30, 2018.

The former Auditor General called on Ghanaians to assist the team to make this journey as it would be a turning point for the Association.

The team is currently camping at the expense of the Ghana Fencing Association and the president Mohammed Mahadi is appealing to benevolent Ghanaians and the corporate world to come to the aid of the Association.

Ghana’s delegation to the upcoming fencing competition in Newcastle includes six male and female athletes.
