Former President Jerry John Rawlings has congratulated boxer Isaac Dogboe for winning the WBO super bantamweight [interim] title over Mexican, Cesar Juarez whilst urging him to maintain discipline lifestyle.

President Rawlings, an ardent lover and follower of boxing described Dogboe as a hungry.

“What state of relaxation you end up in or whether you can maintain the same hungry outlook in order to maintain your title will be the real test. You can’t afford to lose it too quickly as it happened to a few others.

The former President advised Isaac ‘The Royal Storm’ Dogboe to emulate Azumah Nelson who won the heart of many due to his exemplary lifestyle.

“Azumah was the only person who kept it for long and won the respect of not only Ghanaians but was one of the legendary fighters in the world.

“You have to take a cue. If you can’t beat Azumah’s record let’s hope you can keep it for as long as he did,” the former President Rawlings warned.

Arguably Africa’s greatest boxer, Azumah also said he was looking forward to seeing Isaac Dogboe beat his enviable record which lasted for over ten years.

The WBO super bantamweight [interim] champion – Isaac Dogboe was escorted by his father and trainer Paul Dogboe, Rabon Dodoo [Former Ghana Boxing Authority Vice-President], as well as Mr. Kennedy Somuah Agyepong [Businessman and Telecoms contractor].
