The FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017 culminated yesterday, July 02, 2017 at the Saint Petersburg [Russia] with a happily ever after final match between Germany [World Champions] and Chile [South American Champions].
In the end, it was Joachim Loew’s young German stars that triumphed beating the much experienced Chilean side courtesy Lars Stindl’s first half goal against the run of play.
No one can talk about the Russia 2017 without touching on the aesthetic closing ceremony that sent the crowd inside the Krestovsky Stadium asking for more.
The ceremony, which took the form of a carnival procession with 1,500 actors, musicians, and dancers from across Russia also witnessed Brazilian football legend – Luis Nazario Ronaldo da Lima.
“Confederations Cup great, but World Cup 2018 will be even better,” Isinbayeva told reporters after the games and the world is waiting to see what Russia have in the cupboard going into next year’s WC.
