Mikel Arteta’s wish of bringing Ghanaian midfield jewel – Thomas Teye Partey to Arsenal has been handed a huge boost as Atletico Madrid have identified Uruguayan star [Mauro Arambarri] as the right man to replace the Black Stars middie should his £45m transfer to the Emirates go through.

Mikel Arteta has identified the Ghanaian box-to-box midfielder who has made 35 appearances across all competitions so far this season and stood out in Los Rojiblancos’ Champions League defeat of reigning champions [Liverpool] back in March as the spine in his new look Arsenal team next season.

Partey is back in training with his team-mates as La Liga prepares to return to action amid the coronavirus crisis in June.

But the Daily Express reports that the Spanish giants [Atletico Madrid] have already lined up Thomas Partey’s successor in the shape of Getafe’s Mauro Arambarri.

Arambarri [24] is expected to cost Atletico £18 million, which would then pave the way for Ghanaian defensive midfielder [Partey] to move to the Emirates.

Partey [26] has made over 150 appearances for Atletico Madrid since making his debut for Atleti on November 28, 2015 having come on to replace Luciano Vieti in their 1-0 against Espanyol.
