James Kwesi Appiah, former Black Stars coach has received an amount of US$ 70,000 as part payment of his outstanding salary and bonuses, according to Kickgh.com
The former Ghanaian international and the ministry has been engaging in war of words in recent times, but the Minister of Youth and Sports – Isaac Kwame Asiamah in a recent engagement with the media promised that his outfit were putting measures in place to paying off any amount owed Kwesi Appiah.
“It will be wrong to state that we don’t want to pay him because we have supported him right from the start of his contract,” the Minister said at his engagement with the press.
“I can assure you that we will pay him his due for all the good work he had done for our dear nation,” he promised.
Ghana owed the former Black Stars trainer an outstanding salaries and bonuses estimated at $185,000, but with 70,000 paid the Ministry still has US$ 115,000.00 to clear.
Kwesi Appiah lost his job after his contract with the Black Stars expired in December 2019.
