Joseph Dennis Parker earned a hard fought victory over Hughie Lewis Fury at the Manchester Arena on Saturday, September 23 to retain his WBO world heavyweight title.

Parker became the custodian of the crown having beaten Andy Ruiz Jr. in New Zealand in December 2016 after Hughie Fury’s cousin – Tyson Fury had earlier relinquished the WBO belt on medical grounds.

Joseph Parker [24/24, 18 KO’s] defended the crown successfully against Razvan Cojanu before staging European breakthrough last night over Fury.

Fury [20/21, 10 KO’s, 1] despite haven’t been out for long proved that he’s still got as he shrugged off Parker’s sporadic attack to match him toe-to-toe through the rounds.

Two judges favored Parker [118-110] whiles the other judge scored it 114-114 draw.
