Black Stars striker [Asamoah Gyan] has disclosed that Ghana’s inability to winning the African Cup of Nations under his reign is something that still haunts him.

“Personally, I thought winning the African Cup of Nations was possible, but since I joined the Black Stars in 2003 we have come close a couple of times without being able to win so it worries me still,” Gyan told ‘Myxtro The Ultimate’ on Adom TV in an exclusive interview last Saturday.

“But we still hope that it’ll happen. Even if we are unable to win it, I pray the generation that comes after us will be able to win it,” the lethal striker added.

Asamoah Gyan, otherwise known as the Baby Jet has represented Ghana at eight AFCON tournaments – 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019.

He was also part of the Black Meteors team that played in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.

The former Liberty Professionals striker [Asamoah Gyan] who made his international debut at age 17 on November 19, 2003, coming on to replace Isaac Boakye and scoring against Somalia has represented Ghana at three FIFA World Cups – Germany 2006, South Africa 2010, and Brazil 2014.

The last time Ghana won the African Cup of Nations was in Lybia 1982.
