Ghana’s Winifred Ntumi became the symbol of hope on Monday having lifted her weight in a grand style to win bronze medal in the ongoing Africa Weightlifting Youth Olympic Qualification and Junior Championship in Cairo, Egypt.
The young, but determined Ghanaian won her country’s medal in the 48kg category scored a total of 111kg – Snatch [52kg], Clean and Jerk [59kg].
Winifred Ntumi’s great show at the Africa Weightlifting Youth Olympic Qualification and Junior Championship has improved her personal best [PB] from 93kg to 111kg.
In all, one hundred and fourteen athletes  from fifteen  countries are taking part in the championship.
