2016 Olympic 110-metre hurdles champion – Omar McLeod has ditched Nike for PUMA.

The Jamaican athlete who has been contracted by Nike since 2015 made the announcement last Friday via his Instagram:

“happy to be part of the #foreverfaster family.”

McLeod burst onto the scene in 2015, lowering his personal best of 13.44 to 12.97, setting the national record for the first time and becoming the national champion.

At the start of the 2016 outdoor season, he ran 9.99 seconds for the 100 metres, becoming the first athlete to complete the 110 m hurdles in under 13 seconds and also break the 10-second barrier.

In 2017, McLeod won six of seven 110m hurdles races, including the World Championships in London.

He was sadly disqualified in the finals of the 2019 World Athletic Championships in Doha for a lane violation.
