Seth Kumah’s goal of great ingenuity ensured that Hearts of Oak bowed to Okyeman Planners FC in a pre season warm-up game yesterday at the All Nations University Park in Koforidua.
The 19-year-old prodigy [Kumah] caught the attention of the crowd as he combined very well with former Mirage Football Academy striker Abdulah Adams [The Most Valuable Player on the day]. The duo tormented the Hearts of Oak defence which had the likes of Fatau Mohammed and Mohammed Alhassan leading the line.
In his quest to building a formidable team ahead of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season, coach Kim Grant paraded two different teams in each half. Some of the renowned names that featured for the Phobians in the first stanza included Fatau Mohammed, Mohammed Alhassan, William Dankyi, Benjamin Afutu, Joseph Esso, Michelle Sarpong, and Richard Atta.
In the second stanza, however, Kim Grant changed the entire starting line-up bring on the likes of Agyare, Omar Manaf, and Kofi.
Despite their numerical advantage, Kim Grant’s re enforcement in the second half could not pull parity for the Phobians as Okyeman Planners defensive pair of Philip Gameli and Emmanuel McCarthy were on top of issues at the back.
Okyeman Planners will continue its pre-season friendly games tomorrow as they travel to Akuapem Mampong to play as guest to Phar Rangers and then head to the All Nations University Park again to face Ghana Premier League side – Liberty Professionals.
