The much anticipated heavyweight trilogy showdown between WBC and lineal world champion – Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury and former world champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder has been postponed due to Fury’s positive COVID-19 diagnosis.
The two goliaths who were originally billed to face on July 24 will now meet Saturday, October 9 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Fury vs. Wilder III tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.tmobilearena.com or www.axs.com.
The event is promoted by Top Rank, BombZquad Promotions, TGB Promotions and Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions. A Premier Boxing Champions presentation.
“I wanted nothing more than to smash the ‘Big Dosser’ on July 24, but I guess the beating will have to wait,” Fury said.
“Make no mistake, I will be back and better than ever. We will fight October 9, and I will knock him spark out!”
“This is what we went to arbitration for,” said Shelly Finkel, Wilder’s manager.
“He just wanted what was owed to him. He remains ready to reclaim his world title on October 9.’’
