The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will be all, but over this evening with an anticipated spectacular show at the Alexander Stadium.

African nations have put up splendid performances at this year’s Commonwealth Games having broken and set new Games record in different disciplines.

Nigeria topped the medal table with regards to African nations competing at the international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth of Nations.

1. Nigeria: Medals 35 – Gold [12], Silver [9], Bronze [14]

2. South Africa: Medals 27 – Gold [7], Silver [9], Bronze [11]

3. Kenya: Medals 21 – Gold [6], Silver [5], Bronze [10]

4. Uganda: Medals 5 – Gold [3], Silver [0], Bronze [2]

5. Cameroon: Medals 3 – Gold [1], Silver [1], Bronze [1]

Expected to perform at the closing ceremony are; Jorja Smith, Beverley Knight and UB40.

Apache Indian, Beverley Knight, Dexys Midnight Runners, Goldie, Jacob Banks, Jaykae and Jorja Smith will all perform. Laura Mvula, Ash, Mahalia and Musical Youth will also be performing, along with Neelam Gill, Panjabi MC, Talulah-Eve, The Selecter and UB40.
