Coach of the Super Eagles [Salisu Yusuf] has revealed that he will make a few alteration on his squad ahead of the Championship of African Nations [CHAN] tournament next year despite reaching the semi final stage of the ongoing 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles displayed a wonderful second half show to beat Ghana 2-0 yesterday at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium, but coach Yusuf speaking in a post match interview noted that he would need to make some little adjustment to his final squad for the CHAN tournament in Kenya next year.
“We still have four good players who are not here with us so I cannot say that this will be my final squad for the CHAN tournament,” Coach Yusuf said.
According to Salisu Yusuf he had to be circulating his players in every game because of the nature of the competition and that all the players he assembled for this particular competition have played a part including the reserve goalkeeper.
The Super Eagles’ win over Ghana represent their first win in Group A having played two goalless draw on the road against Mali and Guinea.
Ghana topped the Group A table with 6 points whiles Nigeria finished second with 5 points.
