The Nigeria Football Federation [NFF] is understood to have flown in technical advisor, Gernot Rohr to augment the backroom staff of the Super Eagles as they lock horns with the Black Stars B in the finals of the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations today at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
A statement on its official twitter account in the early hours of Saturday read:
”Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr is on his way to Ghana to support the home stars to victory in Sunday’s @WAFUOFFICIAL final.”
Gernot Rohr [64yrs], a former footballer has managed Ligue 1 side Girondins Bordeaux to the 1996 UEFA Cup finals where the French side lost 0-2, and 1-3 to Bayern Munich – eventual winners.
The Mannheim [West Germany] born was appointed the head coach of the Super Eagles in August 2016.
The Black Stars B lost 0-2 to Nigeria when the two sides met in their last Group A match.
