Barcelona star Neymar is in contact with Paris Saint-Germain over a shock move, reports in Spain claim.
Barcelona insist no one will sign Neymar this summer because of his release clause.
The club are unwilling to sanction a move, meaning PSG would have to match his £195m clause to paris him away from Spain.
But newspaper AS claim PSG are plotting a different way to the Brazil ace – and that Neymar is open to talks.
According to the report, PSG are hoping that Barca’s obsession with signing Marco Verratti this summer can lead to a deal.
Verratti wants to join Barca although he has returned to PSG training for pre-season and won’t instigate the transfer.
The Italian is valued at around £80m, meaning PSG could knock off a hefty chunk of Neymar’s transfer fee if a cash-plus-player deal were to be agreed.
And Neymar appears willing to get going with the move.
According to AS, his father will travel to Paris this week to hold talks with PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi over a switch.
It is claimed Neymar is not solely motivated by money. He signed a contract at Barca only last year and is one of the highest-paid footballers on the planet.
Instead, he is keen to partake in Unai Emery’s project at the Parc des Princes, with the remit of winning the Champions League top of the manager’s agenda.
It also means he would not have to share a dressing room with Lionel Messi, who remains top dog at the Nou Camp.
The report comes as Barca technical director Robert Fernandez admitted yesterday that they are interested in Verratti.
However, Fernandez was coy over how a deal could be brokered.
“Our intention is not to lose good players in order to sign Verratti. On the contrary, our intention is to improve the team,” he said.
