2018 Commonwealth Games women’s 100m champion Michelle-Lee Ahye of Trinidad and Tobago won the 60m crown in 7.21s at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston on Saturday.

The time is the 11th fastest in the world this year.

Shania Collins of the USA was second in 7.27. Aaliyah Brown also of the USA was third in 7.36, just ahead of Jamaica’s Schillonie Calvert-Powell (7.38).

Ahye, the TT Sportswoman of the Year, improved on the 7.27 she clocked at the Fast Track Invitational at the Bill Yeoman Fieldhouse in Houston, just over a week ago. She also won the 200m at that meet.

Ahye is the fastest Trinidadian woman so far this year over 60m.

The next best Trinidadian over the distance is Lisa Wickham who ran a 7.40 60m in Nashville on January 19.
