Musongati FC defied all odds on Saturday to beat Rukinzo FC 5-4 in penalty shootouts to clinch the 2020 Burundian President’s Cup at the Stade Urukundo.

The cagey game ended 1-1 in regulation time with Yves Kireko scoring for Musongati, however, Rukinzo pulled parity just before the break through Derrick Mukombozi.

The game was then forced into penalties and Musongati ended claiming the ticket to represent the Eastern African country in next season’s Total CAF Confederation Cup.

This was the second consecutive final loss for Rukinzo, after losing 3-1 to Aigle Noir last season.
